Ngāi Tahu whakapapa (genealogy) binds us to the mountains, land, forests and waters.
Underpinning this unique relationship is the belief that the natural environment sustains people and in turn, we have a responsibility to nurture and look after the environment through generations.
Toitū te Marae o Täne, Toitū te Marae o Tangaroa, Toitū te Iwi
When land and water are sustained, the people will prosper
Our operations include the management of over 100,000 hectares of land encompassing beef farms, dairy farms, forestry operations, and high country stations. It is important to us that all of our practices – on the land, waterways, forests, and across the communities we operate in – are in line with our role as a kaitiaki or custodian of the environment. We invest in leading farm technologies together with a broad range of sustainability initiatives to help us manage the environmental impact of our activities.
